Why the reports say one thing, but you get the impression that is worst in the economy? Why those numbers?

Why the reports say one thing, but you get the impression that is worst in the economy? Why those numbers?

I saw a report that the there will be a 3% tourism fall for this quarter in most Europe, Spain expects a 2% down income, France 3.5%… and a 15% from last year, they say.
OK, I do not know anything about economics, but would like to understand those numbers (I do work in the tourism industry)… the tourism in many countries has dropped more than half from two years ago… like 30% from last year… that is a lot. Many many restaurants and small hotels in Europe are closing doors due to this recession. How could it actually be like that???
Lets say that if I used to make $1000 dollar in my business a day last year, today I would be making $850, that is not much of a change, is it?

The small reductions probably apply to the recent month. The longer term results are a lot more serious as you also describe.Web hosting

Psychology. You are noticing the worst because that is how humans think. We pay attention to the worst because we have evolved to notice problems and try to fix them. Genetic pools which do not worry about such things tend to not improve.

Remember that 15% is an average. Some pockets are probably dropping 30, 40, maybe 50%. But some pockets might actually be gaining. 15% is the average, and is more realistic than your subjective experiences. But in the end it doesn’t matter. All that should matter to you is how your pocket of the industry is doing. Since yours seems to be doing worse than average, you should adjust expenditure planning accordingly. My Culinary Schools
